About/Contact

Formed in 2013 in Wrexham, North Wales, Kidsmoke consists of: Lance Williams on vocals and guitar, James Stickels on bass and vocals, recent additions Sophie Ballamy on guitar and vocals and Ash Turner on drums. They quickly rose to prominence in April that year following the release of their debut EP ‘Higher’.

The band have gone from strength to strength after reaching the final of the Green Man Rising competition in 2015; after which they have played the festival twice and also supported the likes of Paul Smith (Maximo Park), Glass Animals, Satellite Stories and Widowspeak. BBC6 Music DJ Tom Robinson, Radio X’s John Kennedy and BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton took a liking to the band, playing a number of their tracks several times on his show and has voiced his support for them on numerous occasions.

2017 is off to a good start for the band as they have recently been awarded the Horizons Launchpad Fund from BBC Cymru Wales, and have just finished recording their new EP which is due for release in June.

The indie-pop four-piece note some of their influences as The Smiths and Joy Division, among more contemporary bands like Wild Nothing, Real Estate and Deerhunter.

“Echoes of peak period Aztec Camera” – The Devil Has The Best Tuna
